Shusaku Sumida, WCP Managing Director, presented on how Japanese companies can acquire start-ups in Silicon Valley at a seminar in Tokyo, Sumida pointed out that certain acquisition practices of technology start-ups limits the growth opportunities for Japanese companies and outlined three key success factors in making effective open innovations and three key issues in the process of M&A of start-ups.
